Our Princeton book group experienced the best gathering that we have had in years with Lauren B. Davis as our guest. I have read Lauren’s two novels and two of her short stories collections and I had a difficult time choosing just the right one for our group. I chose An Unrehearsed Desire and our evening was a monumental success in that we rarely veered away from the subject at hand, a grand accomplishment for us. She had us alternately mesmerized or laughing hysterically. In response to our more technical questions regarding the art of writing short stories, we found ourselves thoroughly enlightened as we had never chosen to read a book of short stories before. Interestingly enough, each of us was drawn to or identified with a different short story and thus we did a fine job of discussing the majority of her intuitive tales. Lauren B. Davis is delightful.

Our “couples” book group is always challenged to find material that is stimulating to all of us. The Stubborn Season fit the bill. Along with a lively discussion of the story, we learned a great deal about the history of our neighbors to the north. To top if off, we were surprised by how deeply the group related their experiences to the characters. Thank you Lauren for a memorable Saturday evening.

We were privileged to have Lauren Davis speak to our book club about her most recent Novel THE RADIANT CITY. Aside from enjoying the novel itself for both its content and writing style it was a most inspirational, enjoyable and stimulating afternoon. Lauren is charming, intelligent, informative and knowledgeable and it was a pleasure to hear her speak about her writing process and about the novel. A very well spent afternoon. I look forward to her next novel and to having her visit our group again.

We have received glowing feedback from so many of our reading group. Your comments on The Stubborn Season were so enlightening for us, and your ability to hold an audience spellbound for two hours quite stunning! Thank you so much.
