Bailey Day

Bailey-the-Rescuepoo

Today is the one-year anniversary of the day Bailey-the-Rescuepoo came to live with My Best Beloved and me.

The Best Beloved is in Europe just now, but he sent an email requesting I give Bailey a few extra treats for him on what he calls “Bailey Day.”  He said he can’t believe how his heart has opened up in a whole new way.

Dogs are like that — they’re kind of magic.

The Rescuepoo’s First Brush with Fame

It seems my dog, Bailey, also known as Angel Pie, The Noble Hound, The Rescuepoo, the Little Snoggles, is acquiring some fame.  I was recently asked if I’d like to do an interview on a popular blog site, and after I said yes realized they were really more interested in Bailey the Wonder Poo.  Well, fair enough, he is pretty hard to resist.

Rescued by a Rescue Dog

All right, I’ll just come right out and say it — I’ve become one of those annoying people who, if encouraged in even the smallest way, spend a good part of any conversation talking about my dog.  If you read my recent post, “The Liberating Poetics of Low Expectations,” this probably comes as no surprise.  Dogs have been on my mind a good deal lately, and My Best Beloved, The Kindest Man I Know, finally agreed that, even though he is stricken with allergies, we can have a dog.

Enter Bailey, the Rescuepoo.
