CBC and The Globe & Mail
I’m beyond thrilled that THE GRIMOIRE OF KENSINGTON MARKET has been named one of the Best Books of the Year by the Globe & Mail.
Also delighted to be chatting about the book on CBC’s “The Riff” with Shelagh Rogers. It’s only three minutes… so if you’re interested, please click here and have a listen!
Wow, congratulations! What a well-deserved honor to be on G&M’s Best Books of 2018. And I loved your audio clip, you packed a lot into 3 minutes. regards, Jessica
Thanks very much, Jessica! I do feel honoured. It was a wonderful surprise. I’m glad you liked the audio clip as well — I only hope the book pleases you as much!
Just finished the book and I wanted to say thanks for a great story. In December I read “Bellevue Square”, “Son of a Trickster” and “Lincoln in the Bardeau” so this was the perfect ending for my year. I must admit I haven’t read your other books but I will now add them to my list. Congratulations on the reviews (it was The Toronto Star’s that piqued my interest) and best of luck in the future.
Thanks so much, Quentin! I’m delighted you enjoyed the book, and I’m in very good company indeed! This is the little book that could, after being turned down by a larger press — Wolsak & Wynn took a risk on it and that means the world to me. They are a smaller press and I really hope this book makes some money for them. They work so hard for writers and Canadian literature. Happy New Year!
